XP Vista Folder Burn Beta is a totally free program for Windows XP and Vista which lets the user create recordings on both CD and DVD.

As for those recordings, XP Vista Folder Burn Beta lets you create multisession discs, including startup discs; it also supports IMAPI for the majority of existing formats of CD and DVD: CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, etc.

In the recording process it supports writing discs with ISO 9660, Joliet and Universal Disk Format. You can configure it so that it runs from the Windows contextual menu.
